Florian Noack

At the age of 23 years, the Belgian artist Florian Noack stands as "one of the most promising pianists of the new generation".Born to musical parents, Florian Noack discovers the piano at the age of 4. He studies with Michel Wiggers and at 12 years old, joins the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, in the ' young exceptional talents' section. During 2 years, he studies with Yuka Izutsu while following master classes with A.R. El Bacha, D. Bashkirov, V. Margulis and Brigitte Engerer who writes “I am very much impressed with his maturity, his technical capabilities, intelligence and natural musicality. I have no doubt regarding his brilliant future as a pianist.”  

At the age of 15, Florian Noack wins 8 Competitions in Belgium (including the Concours Excellentia, Concours Grétry, Concours EPTA, Concours Rotary Breughel, Concours Belfius, etc.). During that period, he works with the Belgian pianist Johan Schmidt. At the age of 16, he joins the Musikhochschule in Cologne, where he studies with the Russian pianist and composer Vassily Lobanov. In parallel, he performs at competitions and wins several prizes in France (Concours International Vibrarte, Concours International de Mérignac, Concours International Adilia Alieva, Piano Campus, etc.).   

In 2009, he was a laureate of the “Belgian Foundation of the Vocation” and was awarded the  “Grandpiano 2009”. At the age of 20, he won the 2nd Prize and the Public’s prize at the Rachmaninov competition. A year later, he was awarded the 3rd Prize at the International Competition of Cologne and the 2nd Prize at the International Competition Robert Schumann, and in 2013 he won the 1st Prize at the Karlrobert Kreiten Piano Competition, the 1st Prize at the Lions Club Competition, and the Steinway Förderpreis. 
An enthusiast for the rarer works of the romantic and post-romantic repertoire (Medtner, Alkan, Dohnanyi, among others), Florian Noack has also created original transcriptions of works of Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Rimsky-Korsakov, etc. These transcriptions have attracted the attention notably of Dmitri Bashkirov, Boris Berezovsky, and Cyprien Katsaris.   

He is invited at various festivals in France, Germany, China, Korea and the United States. He has performed as soloist with many orchestras, including the WDR Rundfunkorchesters, the Philharmonischen Orchester Plauen-Swickau, the Symphonical Orchestra of Aquitaine, the Orchestre de chambre Charlemagne, etc. (Piano Concertos by Rachmaninov, Schumann, Ravel, Beethoven, Grieg, Mozart…). Florian Noack has recorded for different labels piano works by Chopin, Schumann, Rachmaninov, and Lyapunov.
